Riccardo Benetti, assuming the position of Principal Consultant for the Alloy Division at Uniesse Marine, brings over four decades of expertise in aluminum boat construction to his current role. His journey began with father and Grandfather at Benetti, his family’s esteemed shipyard, where he immersed himself in the art of luxury yacht construction under the watchful guidance of his father and grandfather.

In 1978, Riccardo founded the Benetti Sail Division within the family’s shipyards, marking a pivotal moment in his career. Here, he pioneered the construction of aluminum-hulled sailboats, introducing innovative techniques that would redefine industry standards. His meticulous craftsmanship and visionary approach were evident in the creation of three racing sailboats for the IOR class – Vanina, Wagner, and Valkyries – each garnering notable success on the racing circuit.

Throughout the 1980s, Riccardo expanded his repertoire to include a diverse range of aluminum and steel/aluminum cruising sailboats, as well as high-performance offshore racing boats. His relentless pursuit of innovation led to fruitful collaborations with welding machine manufacturers, resulting in the development of state-of-the-art equipment tailored for welding thinner aluminum plates.

Transitioning seamlessly into the realm of power yachts in the late 1990s, Riccardo’s expertise continued to evolve. Overseeing the construction of numerous motoryachts ranging from 65 to 125 feet, many featuring aluminum superstructures, he established himself as a visionary in the industry. His commitment to excellence extended to the meticulous curation of a network of premier contractors for aluminum hulls and superstructures, ensuring unparalleled standards of fabrication.
